The other night, while riding my bicycle, I realized that the exciting thing for me is not the spread of a meme, but it’s evolution. What started out as a simple generic composite blog entry became, through repetition, a running joke about conspiracy. Now, "Man About Town" Jeffrey Zeldman has moved it to a new level, by testing the theory that important topics are less likely to be ignored in a community weblog setting if the initial post includes references to little girls riding bicycles. If it works on MetaFilter, expect to see Bryant Gumbel replaced by his 6 year old niece by the end of the week.
