Kitties and Punkins and the ABCs

We're drawing kitties and punkins for Halloween!

A phone conversation this morning reminded me that, while sharing adorable photos of my daughter with friends and family is one of the reasons I created this weblog, it is not the only one. Zoë continues to blow us away with her development. Her language is remarkable, which is hardly suprising given what chatterboxes her parents are. For months now, she's been singing along with her favorite songs (Hint: If Elmo sings it, it's one of her favorites.), but lately, she's really gotten into singing the ABC song. THE ENTIRE ABC SONG. Now, she occasionally gets into a loop at the end - she sings "Double - X - Y an Z. Now I.. Double - X - Y an Z.. Double - X..." you get the picture. She loves to sing it, and she does a great job. The thing is, she's actually putting it together with the letters themselves. Ok, she doesn't recognize *every* letter, but she's 20 only 20 months old, and if you ask her to point out the "X" on a sign, she'll do it for you.

This has to be her mother's doing - I don't sing, and I can barely get through the ABCs myself.
