You have to wonder, is it really just that US readers are so fascinated with Annie Leibovitz that it takes priority over global politics or is it something more sinister? WHY DOES THE REST OF THE WORLD HATE ARTISTIC CELEBRITY PHOTOGRAPHY???
The MSNBC page for the Newsweek International Edition shows the covers for each version of the magazine. Three of them lead with the story that "Five years after the Afghan invasion, the Taliban are fighting back hard, carving out a sanctuary where they-and Al Qaeda's leaders-can operate freely." The US edition has an exclusive on Annie Liebovitz placing celebrities "side by side with surprisingly personal images of love and loss." THAT will show those nasty terrorists! LOVE AND LOSS, people. LOVE AND LOSS!!!
