MetaMetaSoMeta

Ok, so M3 has been out of commission for ages, but if you think we're going to pass up Anil's Flickr Meta-Moblogging of Fickr's Clay Shirky - father of the folksonomic flickr phenom "So Meta It Hurts" , you are nuts!

Clearly, Anil is pandering to our tastes.

Media Eats Self

We love the media coverage of Jon Stewart's follow up to Crossfire's response to Jon Stewart's endightment of the media. We just wish Bob "Douchebag for Freedom" Novak had featured more prominently in the story.

Firefoxy

We love the fact that we found out about the JustBlogIt weblogging extension for Firefox by using the RSS reader extension to read the weblog feed for the company that makes the weblog software we use to blog about things we read in weblog feeds.

Bob Novak

We have noticed that many of you across the blogosphere have picked up on Jon Stewart's "Bob Novak, Douchebag for Freedom" (over 100 google hits) and "Bob Novak, Douchebag for Liberty" (nearly 400 google hits) memes. We certainly applaud this trend, but we don't feel it goes nearly far enough. Jon and his writers should issue a daily Fox News style "Talking Points" memo, only funny instead of evil. We would certainly incorporate those talking points into our daily posts/conversations/news broadcasts. Of course we hadn't subscribed to the Daily Show newsletter until today, so if they are already doing that... nevermind.

KAWAIIIIII!

Our blogosphere has shifted somewhat in the last year and a half, and as a consequence, we don't get so much meta these days. We are thrilled, however, to have Daddy Types on the ground in Japan, finding nuggets* of web-joy for us to read. We especially enjoyed the Taking Your NonAsian Baby to Japan phrasebook. We intend to get some mileage out of the SARS phrase. Thanks, Daddy Types!

* The nuggets** post doesn't meet even the less stringent M3 rules, but we don't have a "cool tech" section.

** The following is an IM exchange in reference to the nuggets post:

TC: btw - the mucus sucking device is disturbing...
crazyunclejoe: Indeed. I wonder, if you can just get it started and then gravity feed the boogers out
TC: there's always that inevitable on-rush of liquid when you try to do that
crazyunclejoe: also, if you were evil, and at the daycare center, could you get it started, then stick the other hose into another baby's nose...?
TC: i was thinking of feeding the other end into a cup of boba
crazyunclejoe: HAH This may be how Boba was invented
TC: i'll have the duet mucus boba
crazyunclejoe: that's what I always get... either that or the mucus and grass jelly shave ice
TC: (i just threw up a little in my latte)
crazyunclejoe: *snort*
crazyunclejoe: I mean... *suck* *suck* *blort*

MetaDaddy

We are the first to admit that we've completely fallen down on our blogging duties, due to our singleminded fascination with fatherhood. It is shameful, therefore, that we had to discover the Daddy Types weblog via an article linked from Jason Kottke's website. With an ever growing circle of geeky-parent friends, we vow to take the intersection of our interests more seriously. Of course, that may just mean constant links to people who link to Daddy Types, but we'll do our best.
